ThatplanMicrosoft responded to open-source project behind one of the major problems & mdash; & mdash; developers can depend on how long Microsoft to provide support and security patches to these young project.
Long-term support (LTS) release published after a three-year basic period, and will provide support in the future, after a year of follow-LTS release extra. LTS release can be regarded as stable version, it has been applied for safety and / or serious Bug patch.
Fast Track Support (FTS) publishing packages are complementary to the LTS. FTS version will contain Bug fixes, but the main focus on providing new features. FTS release occurred within the relevant parent LTS release life cycle. They typically support a period of three months, and then there will be a new release of FTS. Last FTS conference parent LTS life cycle of one year of support. Developers can use the FTS publish test the latest features while relying LTS package stable critical systems.
These releases will be consistent and follow the pattern major.minor.patch. LTS conference to increase the major version (eg 4.0.0). FTS conference increased minor version number, and associated with the parent with the same major version (eg 4.1.0). Both, if necessary, will use the patch version (eg 4.0.1 or 4.1.1).
