via:博客园     time:2018/6/25 17:06:35     readed:462

To encourage more businesses and individuals to use their open source projects, Red HatAnnounceAll GPLv2 and LGPLv2.1 authorized projects will join the cure clause of the GPLv3, that is, the breach of the clause will not lead to an immediate termination of the authorization, but gives a certain allowance for the remedies of the offender.

Today's companies use less GPLv2 and LGPLv2.1 authorized projects, and Red Hat explains that the reason is that users believe that only one unintentional violation will lead to an automatic termination of the authorization, and some believe that a violation may lead to a lawsuit. By adding the cure clause from GPLv3, Red Hat hopes to eliminate users' concerns and give users time to correct compliance problems.
