Tencent Technologies News, June 20, according to foreign media reports, before its official launch in the summer, Apple is testing its upcoming Goldman Sachs credit card Apple Card among thousands of retailers.

Apple previously allowed its employees to test Apple Card, but now it's expanding the scope of testing to a larger group through an internal testing project launched this week.

Apple employees can register directly through personal devices, and the Apple Pay part of the card will be activated immediately. Apple Card plans to send it within two to three weeks. The annual interest rate (APR) that Apple employees enjoy ranges from 13.24% to 24.24%, the same as the APR that will be offered to consumers.

With thousands of retailers available, this extension marks the first large-scale test of Apple Card, enabling Apple to identify and address vulnerabilities and other issues before Apple Card is launched to the public.

Apple employees were asked not to discuss Apple Card, but they were allowed to use it for purchases in public.

Screen captures of the Apple Card Employee beta show that the beta is fully functional, including receiving daily cash returns, paying bills, checking the order status of the physical card and receiving technical support via SMS.

Among other tasks, users can arrange payments, access their credit lines and manage connected bank accounts. Users can also set Apple Card as the default payment method for Apple purchases.

Apple Card was created by Apple in collaboration with Goldman Sachs and is deeply integrated into the iPhone and Apple ecosystem. Cash can be returned by 3% on Apple devices, 2% on Apple Pay transactions, and 1% on other purchases.

The Wallet app on the iPhone tracks purchases and provides different categories of expenditure (health, food, shopping, etc.). Although Apple Card offers a higher incentive for purchasing through Apple Pay, Apple offers customers physical cards made of titanium alloys when traditional purchases are required.

Apple plans to launch Apple Card in the U.S. this summer, with media reports saying that Apple is already discussing expansion into Europe with financial regulators. Employees using the card run IOS 12.4 on their devices, and it is expected that the IOS 12.4 update will support Apple Card.

So far, Apple has launched four iOS 12.4 betas, so it may not be far from the official release date. (Tencent Technology Revision/Jinlu)
