Ericsson cooperated with 5G chip manufacturer and China Telecom to complete end-to-end 5G SA data call based on current network environment and using third-party commercial chips in Hangzhou 5G test network of China Telecom. The success of the test further promoted the mature development of 5G SA ecosystem.

At the end of April this year, Ericsson and MediaTek Technologies completed the end-to-end data call of 5G SA based on 2.6GHz band in the laboratory environment, based on the December 2018 version of 3GPP. This test completed the end-to-end data call based on 3.5GHz band in the 5G outfield current network environment of China Telecom, and also complied with the December 2018 version of 3GPP. Compared with the previous laboratory environment, the success of this test in the outfield environment of China Telecom also means that the commercial maturity of 5GSA will be further improved.
This 5G SA field test uses Ericsson 5G commercial base station and 5G core network solution based on cloud platform. Ericsson 5G commercial base station (including baseband and 6630 and video unit AIR6488) supports both NSA and SA commercial deployment, and has been widely used in many 5G commercial networks around the world. Ericsson's mature 5G core network based on cloud platform also creates conditions for speeding up 5G SA business and enabling more new 5G applications.
Ericsson 5G network equipment has been used in nine commercial networks in Korea, North America, Europe, Australia, Middle East and other places.
