Former Microsoft employee theft company worth $10 million in electronic money

Recently, according to media reports,A former Microsoft employee was accused of stealing Microsoft's $10 million worth of electronic money (more like Q coins than Bitcoin).

The former employee, Volodymyr Kvashuk, is a 25-year-old Ukrainian citizen who has helped test Microsoft's online store.

He was arrested on July 16 and the prosecutor accused him of stealing Microsoft's e-money —— for example, a gift card for Microsoft products could be redeemed. After the theft, the man resold the stolen goods online and purchased it with the money.Tesla Motors worth $160,000 and Lake View Room worth $1.7 million.

The prosecution said the man had been stealing for seven months, during which time $2.8 million was transferred to his account, and Microsoft discovered the theft and fired him in June 2018.

If convicted, Kvashuk will face up to 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
