Windows Defender, to be renamed Microsoft Defender,MicrosoftAnti-virus solutions have become one of the leading anti-virus products. According to Microsoft data, more than 500 million computers worldwide use Windows Defender as the main anti-virus software.
According to Tamerganacharia, general manager of security research at Microsoft ATP:
Windows defenders already account for more than 50% of the Windows ecosystem. As a result, more than 500 million computers are running Windows Defender in active mode as the main anti-virus. And it's developing very fast, and it's the best at present.
However, this is also a reason for Microsoft's concern, as more market share will lead to more hackers attacking Windows Defender, which in turn may put more than 500 million personal computers at risk.
Windows Defender protects more than 50% of the Windows ecosystem, so we are a big target, and everyone wants to break through it to get the most victims.
According to a study by AV-TEST security researchers at the German Institute, Windows Defender is now one of the world's leading anti-virus products.
The latest anti-virus tests carried out by AV-TEST show that the performance of Windows Defender is similar to that of leading security manufacturers such as Kaspersky and Symantec. Specifically, Windows Defender scored 6 out of three individual tests for protection, performance and availability, bringing the total score to 18. Apart from Windows Defender, there are only three other security solutions with a maximum score of 18. They are F-Secure SAFE, Kaspersky Internet Security and Symantec Norton Security.
