I. Overall Situation of Domestic Mobile Phone Market

Overall shipments in the domestic mobile phone market. In July 2019, the total shipment volume of domestic mobile phone market was 34.19 million, down 7.5%, including 2.29 million 2G mobile phones, 3.2917 million 4G mobile phones and 72,000 5G mobile phones; from January to July 2019, the total shipment volume of domestic mobile phone market was 220 million, down 5.5%, including 9.314 million 2G mobile phones, 57,000 3G mobile phones, 211 million 4G mobile phones and 5 G mobile phones. There are 72,000 machines.

The number of new models on the domestic mobile phone market. In July 2019, 52 new models were listed, down 43.5% year-on-year, including 16 2G mobile phones, 32 4G mobile phones and 4 5G mobile phones. From January to July 2019, 298 new models were listed, down 39.1% year-on-year, including 63 2G mobile phones, 1 3G mobile phones, 229 4G mobile phones and 5 5G mobile phones.

2. Domestic and Foreign Brand Composition of Mobile Phone Market

In July 2019, the shipment volume of domestic brand mobile phones was 31.942 million, down 9.2% year on year, accounting for 93.4% of the shipment volume of mobile phones in the same period; 43 new models on the market, down 46.3% year on year, accounting for 82.7% of the new models on the market in the same period. From January to July 2019, 204 million domestic brand mobile phones were shipped, down 3.1% from the same period, accounting for 92.8% of mobile phone shipments; 264 new models were listed, down 40.9% from the same period, accounting for 88.6% of the new models in the same period.

3. Development of Smartphones in China

Smartphone shipments. In July 2019, the shipment of smartphones was 32.952 million, down 3.5% from a year earlier, accounting for 96.4% of the total shipment of mobile phones in the same period, of which Android phones accounted for 94.4% of smartphones. From January to July 2019, smartphone shipments amounted to 210 million units, down 4.2% year-on-year, accounting for 95.6% of mobile phone shipments in the same period. Android phones accounted for 92.9% of smartphones.

The number of new smartphones on the market. In July 2019, 36 new models of smartphones were launched, down 44.6% year-on-year, accounting for 69.2% of the total number of new models in the same period, of which 35 supported Android operating system. From January to July 2019, 228 new models of smartphones were launched, down 39.4% year-on-year, accounting for 76.5% of the total number of new models listed in the same period, of which 227 supported the Android operating system.
