The most precise hinge system has a certain optimum service life, however.Microsoft 公司总部所在地:美国 主要业务:软件 It seems that a new scheme has been found to enhance the hinge and rotation mechanism.

On September 12, the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office announced a patent called (HINGED Device). It describes a double screen collapsible device with deformable components filled with fluid, so that the flexible screen can maintain the minimum bending radius.

As shown in the figure above, the liquid-filled deformable member is located between the flexible screen and the hinge system, aiming to make the flexible screen rotate smoothly. Microsoft points out that:

Cavity limiting elements can accommodate one or more chambers containing fluids (at the 908 mark in the figure), and you can make them from any type of flexible material, such as polymers.

It is impermeable to the fluid (oil, even air) in the sealing cavity. The figure shows a semi-viscous fluid that moves slowly in the cavity at operating temperature.

Of course, the durability of folding screen equipment is still facing unknown challenges. But that may change soon, because Microsoft is probably legendary.Demonstrate on the Centaurus device.
