For non-brand models, users need to create their own recovery media, such as early DVD, U disk and so on, if they want to re-install the system. Such settings are retained untilWindows7, until Windows 8,MicrosoftThe system has built-in reset function to facilitate vendors to insert Windows recovery images.
By Windows 10, Microsoft decided to make this feature even more extreme, allowing users to "mirror-free" recovery and build Windows copies through systems already installed on computers. Using this function can help users save computer hard disk space, but once problems occur in the installation process, the computer may never be able to repair Windows problems. So Microsoft decided to improve this feature by adding the Cloud Download option.
In Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 18970, Microsoft added Cloud Download cloud download capabilities. With this feature, users can access from Microsoft.The serverDownload the system image for re-installation, without using existing Windows files to build a new copy. Microsoft has released a copy of this feature.“Course"
Upgraded to Windows 10 Build 18970 and laterYou can choose "Update and Security" in "Settings", then "Restore", click "Keep My Files" or "Delete All Contents", then you can see "Cloud Download" and "Local Reinstall" options. With the cloud download function, it will connect to Microsoft Windows Update server.
To use the cloud download function, we need to complete the following two stages of work:
When choosing the option in the above "Cloud Download" interface, the system prepares and checks the requirements in the background to ensure that the device is powered by an external power supply; checks for the existence and enablement of Windows Recovery Environment (Windows RE);
Scan to see which optional functions and languages are installed;
Check the connection with Windows Update and determine the download size;
When you click Reset, the download begins. Thereafter, everything will be done automatically without any interaction. After the download is completed, the offline phase will start from restart to Windows RE (if the reset is started from Windows RE, the system will not restart but continue to run).
Start to Windows RE

If the computer can't access the systemThen you can use the cloud download in Windows Recovery Environment (Windows RE) to start Resetting this PC. If Windows fails to boot after two successive failed attempts, the device will automatically boot to Windows RE.
Then select troubleshooting
This new cloud download option will continue to enable users to reinstall Windows and restore the device to its normal state. Whether it is started through Windows 10 settings or through Windows RE troubleshooting, its stages and operations are almost the same.
