David abney, chief executive of ups, says it may expand to other "campus-type environments" and even families. Flight forward is committed to enabling e-commerce using the uav express business.

This is the first time that the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has approved a company to operate such a wide fleet of UAVs. FAA certification gives UPS UAVs the ability to fly at night and carry more than 55 pounds of cargo.

FAA approval is no doubt a milestone in the delivery field of commercial UAVs. All companies such as Amazon, Uber and Alphabet, the parent company of Google, compete to increase the UAV in its aviation subsidiaries to save cost and increase delivery speed.

In March this year, the headquartered company began transporting medical samples from a UAV to a hospital in North Carolina. Since then, the company has made 1,000 such flights.
