The irnss system has carried out nine launches so far, successfully putting eight satellites into orbit. The first irnss-1a was launched in July 2013, and the eighth and last irnss-1i was launched in April 2018 (the previous irnss-1h mission failed). The preliminary networking was completed.
Similar to other satellite navigation systems, IRNSS supports two services, one is standard positioning service (SPS) for all users, and the other is encryption and restriction service (RS) for specific authorized users (major military).
