According to media reports, Yang Chaobin, President of Huawei's 5g product line, said at the media Roundtable forum after Huawei's 10th global mobile broadband forum that more than 400000 5g base stations were shipped, of which 300000 modules were sent to the world after May 16 (entity list).
At present, some modules of 5g base station contain American components, and some of them do not contain American company components. From the perspective of products, there is no difference. This kind of products are delivered in a mixed way. It's hard to say which kind of products are delivered in which country.
He pointed out that Huawei's 5g products and solutions have been widely used and tested in the world. Of more than 60 5g commercial contracts, 32 are from Europe, 11 are from the Middle East, 10 are from Asia Pacific, 7 are from the Americas and 1 is from Africa.
At the end of September this year, Ren Zhengfei of Huawei said that it has started to produce 5g base stations without American components. As more countries adopt the technology, the total output of 5g base stations will double next year.
The annual output of Huawei's 5g base stations is expected to reach 1.5 million next year, compared with 600000 this year, including those made with and without American parts.
Ren Zhengfei had previously said he was willing to sell the company's 5G technology (including patents, codes, blueprints and production know-how) to western companies for a one-time fee. Ren Zhengfei said on Thursday that Huawei was willing to license its 5G mobile technology to a U.S. company and that he was not afraid to build competitors by providing Huawei technology to competitors.
