The Android 10 "rules", which first appeared in the Android Q test version, are similar to the "routes" of Google assistant, but slightly less functional.
This "routine" allows the user to automatically perform certain operations, mainly opening / closing tasks, or adjusting certain settings based on certain factors - including the time period of the day, whether there are certain devices or network connections, etc.
By contrast, rules are more restrictive. According to the screenshot of the exposure on the network, at present, it only provides two types of trigger switches (position and Wi Fi connection), and only four corresponding operations (enable the "do not disturb" mode, andMobile phoneMute / vibrate / ring).
Obviously, the current function is only to trigger certain operations in order to reach a specific location. For example, in the office or a specific place, the mobile phone will be automatically muted, and when the user is connected to home Wi Fi, it will automatically switch to ringing mode again.
From the convenience of use, the "rule" setting is really a good idea. We also hope that Google can cover more devices and trigger operation options in the future. At present, however, this feature has not been introduced to all pixel devices running Android 10.
