Due to the lack of supply of auto wiring harness exported from China, the first factory of modern automobile Weishan will be shut down again only one day after resumption of work, the second factory of Weishan will also be shut down for one day on the 21st, and the Yashan factory may also be shut down again. It is understood that modern and Kia automobile's wiring harness parts suppliers' factories in China are currently operating at less than 50% and the factory output is less than half of that before the outbreak.

The Korea Automobile Industry Association predicted,If supply continues to run short, modern and chia companies alone will face a decline in supply of nearly 50,000 vehicles, resulting in a loss of more than 1 trillion won (5.88 billion yuan) in sales.

"Due to the lack of supply of spare parts, No. 1 plant in Weishan will be shut down from February 18 to 20, and No. 2 plant will also be considered to be shut down for one day on February 21," said Hyundai Auto. "Although the auto wiring harness parts produced in China are being supplied to the plant in succession, but the supply is not sufficient, the company decided to flexibly arrange the start-up time of each plant.".

At present, Hyundai has five factories in Weishan, among which factory 1 mainly produces veloster, Kona and other models. Factory 2 has already pressed more than 20000 genesis gv80 models into production orders. The other three factories will maintain normal production and will not consider suspension for the time being.

The novel coronavirus pneumonia outbreak has had an impact on the supply chain of Jaguar Land Rover. Jaguar Land Rover has to shut down its British car factory in two weeks.

Ralf Speth, Jaguar Land Rover's CEO, said the company's plant in China would reopen next week. But he acknowledged there was uncertainty about whether the company had enough parts to sustain production in the UK.
