Microsoft announces full configuration of Xbox series X

NextMicrosoft announced last monthToday, Microsoft released the complete configuration list of Xbox series X. The next generation of Xbox series X is definitely a performance monster, enough to drive raytracing performance:

  • GPU:12 TFLOPS, 52 CUs @ 1.825 GHz Custom RDNA 2 GPU

  • Processor process: 7Nm enhancement
  • Memory: 16 GB gddr6 w / 320mb bus
  • Memory bandwidth: 10GB @ 560 GB / s, 6GB @ 336 GB / S
  • Storage: 1 TB custom nvme SSD SSD
  • IO throughput: 2.4 GB / S (native), 4.8 GB / S (compression, through custom hardware decompression module)
  • Storage expansion: 1 TB expansion card (same as built-in performance)
  • External storage: USB 3.2 external hard disk support
  • Optical drive: 4K UHD blue optical drive
  • Performance target: 4K @ 60 FPS, up to 120 FPS, up to 8K resolution

Microsoft provides a faster game experience for game players. The new host system can switch between multiple games and quickly restore the game state played before. SSD plays an important role in this process.

Xbox series X also provides better support for cloud streaming games. This is a technology called Xbox velocity architecture by Microsoft, which can provide a smoother experience for the streaming of large open world games.
