Sony set up a $100 million global rescue fund to fight the covid-19 epidemic

Sony has just announced a $100 million special rescue fund to help individuals and groups around the world better combat the COVID-19 outbreak caused by the new crown virus.The company said in a press release that it will provide support in three areas, including individuals engaged in first-line medical emergencies, distance children's educators, and members of the creative community in the entertainment industry.

The 10 million US dollars in the fund will be given priority to the United Nations Foundation, the Swiss charity foundation, MSF, UNICEF, UNHCR and other agencies that work with the World Health Organization to fight the epidemic.

"We extend our condolences to all relatives who lost their families during the outbreak and feel sympathy for all those affected ," said Kenichiro Yoshida Yoshida, Sony's president and chief executive.
