Novel coronavirus pneumonia, LG spokesman said the decision was not affected by the recent shutdown of some of the world's production lines due to the new crown pneumonia outbreak, but to diversify production.

LG Electronics said two of its six production lines at its Gumi television plant, about 260 kilometers south of Seoul, would move to its cibitung plant in Indonesia as early as this year. LG Electronics said it would not cut jobs, despite cutting capacity at its domestic plant in South Korea.

LG Electronics' cibitung factory was founded in 1995, and now mainly produces TV, display and digital signage products. The company said it would increase its annual capacity by 50% as it expanded and upgraded. Increasing the capacity of the plant will enable LG Electronics to better supply products to consumers in Asia and Australia.

LG Electronics said the latest restructuring plan aims to build Indonesia's cibitung TV plant into the company's Asian production center. The company's mlawa plant in Poland will supply televisions to Europe, while its plant in Mexico will supply North America.

Previously, LG Chemical battery factory and LG display module factory in Nanjing were shut down from early February to February 9 due to the impact of the new crown epidemic. LG Chemical Beijing, Guangzhou polarizer, Tianjin auto parts and other factories have also shut down.
