In February last year, Samsung proudly launched its first Galaxy fold screen smartphone, which can provide a 7.3-inch display area in tablet mode. Earlier this year, we ushered in the flip type galaxy Z flip folding screen smart machine.Speculation is that the company is likely to announce a successor to Galaxy fold in the second half of 2020. Its model is sm-f916 and is expected to be sold in the name of Galaxy fold 2.Recently, however, letsgodigital, a Dutch technology blog, discovered a waterproof patent for the new machine.

On November 13, 2019, Samsung Electronics submitted a patent application to the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) entitled "electronic equipment with waterproof structure", which was officially announced to the outside world on May 22, 2020.
It can be seen that it adopts a special waterproof structure design, which can protect the components inside the fuselage (including hinge through-hole, etc.) from the damage of dust and water.

In the patent image, HIA shows a new machine with many similarities to the original Galaxy fold, but there are also many obvious adjustments in details. For example, the outer small screen is narrower, or only supports the display of notifications.
As a utility model patent, Galaxy fold 2 has a long and narrow notice screen, a periscope lens and a waterproof shell. As for the impact of obtaining ipxx protection level on the price, it is not known at present.

Many had speculated that Samsung's new folding-screen smartphone would have a larger screen, but others had speculated that it would be smaller to reduce manufacturing costs. That would allow the company to target Galaxy Fold 2 or Galaxy Fold Lite models.
From the Galaxy Z Flip hardware design and pricing strategy, this move is expected to greatly boost sales of new products. For photography, Galaxy Fold 2 or at the top right are equipped with two front selfie cameras supplemented by a rear three-shot (periscope/zoom/focus combination).

the first generation Galaxy Fold used a three-shot combination of ultra-wide-angle wide-angle 12 MP zoom (only 2 light variations) as a contrast.
However, on the galaxy fold 2, Samsung is expected to equip it with a 10 times hybrid zoom lens similar to the galaxy S20 Ultra.
