Yesterday, the Ministry of transport issued the guiding opinions on promoting the construction of new infrastructure in the field of transportation, proposing the development of intelligent high-speed EMUs, the development and test of 600 km / h high-speed maglev and 400 km / h high-speed wheel rail passenger train.

Many people think that the high-speed train is already very fast. Why develop a more high-speed maglev train? According to reports, the 600 km high-speed maglev train can fill the speed gap between high-speed rail and aircraft.

Ding Sansan, director of the high-speed maglev project and deputy chief engineer of CRRC Sifang, said in an interview with domestic media,According to the actual travel time, high-speed maglev is the fastest transportation mode in the range of 1500 km

Taking Beijing to Shanghai as an exampleIn addition to the travel preparation time, it takes about 4.5 hours by air and 5.5 hours for high-speed railHigh speed maglev only takes about 3.5 hours.

At present, the highest operating speed of high-speed rail is 350 kilometers per hour, aircraft cruising speed of 800-900 kilometers per hour,The 600 km / h high-speed magnetic levitation can fill the gap between high-speed rail and aviation.

In June this year, the 600 km / h high speed maglev test prototype successfully ran on the maglev test line, marking an important breakthrough in the research and development of high speed maglev traffic system in China. At the same time, the development of 5 marshalling engineering prototype vehicles is also advancing steadily, and it is planned to take off the line at the end of the year to form a full set of technical and engineering capabilities of high speed maglev.

However, a number of domestic rail transit experts said that the current high-speed maglev project research and development is more technical reserves, the real transformation into mass transport needs comprehensive cost, capacity, market, economic significance and other factors, may still have a way to go.
