Qualcomm and Ericsson complete the world's first 5g carrier aggregation interoperability test milestone

27 August 2020, San Diego and Stockholm

Qualcomm Technologies and Ericsson completed 5 carrier aggregation tests at G SA Ericsson laboratory in Beijing, China. The test realizes the peak connection speed of 2.5 GHz (n41) TDD band by aggregating 100 MHz 60MHz in 70% downlink configuration and using 4 x4MIMO,.

moreover, in sweden, both sides successfully completed 5 carrier aggregate data calls by combining 20 MHz of 600 MHz (n71) fdd band and 100 MHz, of 2.5 GHz (n41) tdd band.

These two results are based on the Ericsson Wireless System (Ericsson Radio System) product portfolio of 5 G equipment and onboard Qualcomm

Qualcomm technologies has begun to provide the snapdragon X60 prototypes, and it is expected that the top commercial smartphones with this new modem and RF system will be available in early 2021.
