On October 25,Beijing Kunlun world wide Technology Co., Ltd. announced that it purchased 19.5 million shares of opera, which is 8.47% of its outstanding shares, from KFH through its wholly-owned subsidiary, Hong Kong world wide.
Opera is an old web browser software from Norway. It was born in 1996. It belongs to opera software ASA (renamed Otello Corporation) and is headquartered in Oslo, Norway.
In 2016, Kunlun wanwei and its controlling shareholder Zhou Yahui, Qihoo 360 and other Chinese funded consortia wholly acquired oepra company, which was listed on NASDAQ in July 2018. As of October 16, 2020, the market value reached 1.094 billion US dollars, and the actual controller was Zhou Yahui.
The price of this transaction is US $8.22/ads, about RMB 55.35/ads, with a total price of US $80.145 million, about RMB 539.6323 million, all of which are paid in self raised cash.
Before that, Kunlun Bay held Opera 45.41% shares through its wholly owned subsidiary, Hong Kong Island, and after the transaction was completed,World Wide Web Hong Kong will hold 53.88% of opera, and opera will become its holding subsidiary.
