Visa, the credit card clearing company, said on Wednesday,It will be allowed to use its credit clearing platform on other business platforms of mindgeek, the owner of the world's largest pornographic website, which has professionally produced adult studio content, but will continue to refuse to process payments from the website itself.
Visa said that until the end of the current investigation, its ban will still apply to websites that store "user generated content", of which pornhub is naturally the most popular.
Visa and rival MasterCard suspended processing of credit card payments and clearing on pornhub earlier this month after a New York Times report found illegal content on the site.
On Wednesday, pornhub was once again disappointed with the decision to maintain the ban, saying that it has actively worked to adopt a wide range of measures to protect the platform from such content, including hiring a large human audit team to manually review every uploaded content, and a thoroughly running system to mark and delete illegal materials.
It is worth noting that MasterCard has permanently terminated the use of its card on pornhub after investigating and confirming the existence of illegal content on the pornhub platform.
