According to foreign media, some Sony Playstation 4 models have been discontinued. Sony's previous generation Playstation 4 was first launched in 2013, and its name has undergone several small iterations and changes of at least two models. With the launch of Playstation 5, the delisting of PS4 has begun to enter the countdown.
A Sony retailer believes that the era of Playstation 5 has come. Once the consumables are used up, at least some models of Playstation 4 will stop production.
Given that the ps5 hasn't even been on the market for a year, some may think it's too early. By contrast, PlayStation 3 was officially discontinued in 2017, four years after the launch of Playstation 4.
It is reported that the initial production of Playstation 4 is very low, but the booking date and production date cannot be coordinated, so it is very difficult to obtain the game console through official channels. In other words, Sony has not confirmed the claims of Japanese retailers that the reports only affect specific Playstation 4 models.
Specifically, PS4 500GB glacier white, PS4 1TB jet black, PS4 1TB glacier white, PS4 2TB jet black and PS4 Pro 1TB glacier white will be out of stock forever because the manufacturer stops production.
Sony itself hinted at this briefly last month when it said it no longer planned to replenish the PS4 pro in the future. The statement was eventually removed, but that doesn't mean it won't happen this month or soon.
