More improvements to Microsoft's surface notebook devices will be launched on Linux 5.12. The work previously discussed on the aggregation module processing of Microsoft's surface system was developed through reverse engineering. Now the merge window of Linux 5.12 will be introduced after it opens in February.

The first devices supported for Sam are surface Pro 4 and surface Book 1, but the support for the new generation of surface devices is also continuing.
This week, all of the improved surface platform code has been put into the for next branch of platform-drivers-x86.git, making it a candidate for Linux 5.12, unless any major problems arise at the last minute.
The merge window for Linux 5.12 will open in February, while a stable kernel version may be available in April.
