From 2016 to 2018, Jim Keller, the chip God, worked in Tesla and led the research and development of FSD automatic driving chip for current model models.
His previous resume is also brilliant, including apple A4 / A5 processor, amd K7 / K8 / K12 / Zen architecture, etc.
In a recent interview about his working experience at Tesla (vice president of hardware R & D), Jim Keller revealed that Tesla has a culture of working 12 hours a day to prove that you have been working.
Keller's situation may be related to the fact that when he joined Tesla, he had no talent or team to develop chips at all. He had to do a lot of specific work.
Compared with AMD and Intel, Keller said that they are big organizations. You have a great team, and you will find many people who are more willing and more committed to something than you, so you have the energy to do other things or adjust your vacation.
These words seem to make complaints about Tucao Tesla, but Jim Keller has joined the start-up company again after leaving the Intel relatively comfortable senior vice president. And facing the fresh RISC-V structure, it seems that he is not without a spirit of struggle.
