On October 14, Qualcomm Snapdragon posted on its social media platform:"We decided to build our own smartphone SoC instead of using Snapdragon". Android Central points out that Qualcomm, while not naming the company, is clearly taking aim at US search giant Google. It's about to launch a new version of its flagship Pixel 6 series, using its own custom Tensor chips.

Prior to The Google Pixel 6 series, all previous Google Pixel models used Qualcomm Snapdragon chips,And all previous flagships before the Pixel 5 have been powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 flagship processors.

Likely due to the price hike of Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 series chips, Google's Pixel 5 doesn't use the Snapdragon 8 series in this generation, but instead uses qualcomm's mid-range SoC Snapdragon 765G.

Now the Pixel 6 series has gone all the way to Tensor, a chip made by Samsung that has yet to perform.

It's worth noting that,While Google's Pixel 6 series has ditched snapdragon chips, the company's Pixel A series of mid-range models still use Qualcomm chipsSo the two companies will continue to work together.
