Apple has reportedly updated the Mammoth logo, which could hint that the name will be used in future versions of macOS.
On Nov. 16, Yosemite Research LLC, a shell company, won a trademark extension to use "Mammoth" in the computer operating system category. The application was first spotted by 9to5Mac.
As with Apple's other recent OS updates, Mammoth's theme is California. It refers to the Mammoth Lakes in the Sierra Nevada mountains, a popular ski resort.
Yosemite Research LLC previously registered a trademark for Apple and owns the Company's names, including "Yosemite" and "Monterey."
This makes Mammoth likely to be used in the upcoming macOS update, probably in 2022.
