At the CES 2022 conference at the beginning of the year, Intel announced the 12th generation Core Special Edition i9-12900KS,The large core frequency is increased to 3.4-5.5GHz, and the reference and maximum acceleration power consumption reaches 150-260W, is expected to be available next month.
For the i9-12900K, the reference and acceleration frequency are increased by 200MHz and 300MHz, respectively, and the power consumption is increased by 25W and 20W, respectively.
Now, geekBench 5 database has multiple running scores for the i9-12900KS and confirms that the reference frequency is 3.4GHz, but the acceleration frequency is only detected at 5.2GHz – which is still the level of the i9-12900K.
The test is based on the ASUS ROG STRIX Z690-F GAMING motherboard with 32GB DDR5-4800 ram.
Single-core running score 2080-2101, which is about 5% higher than the i9-12900K, the strongest single-core performance to date.
Multicore running score 18992-19010, about 10% higher than the i9-12900KAlthough it is not as strong as the thread ripper and xeon, it is also the most powerful on the mainstream consumer-grade platform.
Compared with the Ryzen 9 5950X, the performance of single-core and multi-core is nearly 19% and 15% higher, respectively.
