Recently, T2 CEO Strauss Zelnick, the parent company of a well-known game "GTA5" developer, was asked on an investor conference call what he thought of the advances in artificial intelligence technology.
In response, Zelnick saidSome of the hopes and concerns raised by AI have been exaggerated. AI tools will not make it cheaper to reduce overall development, but will raise the standards of the high gaming industry.
He believes that robots like ChatGPT can help game development, but will not replace game studios:& ldquo;AI won't let someone say & lsquo; Please develop a better game than "GTA" & rsquo;, and then make it and send it digitally. People may try, but it won't happen.”
However, Zelnick also agrees that the development of AI is important.
He thinksAI will raise the standards of the industry, improve the quality of all aspects of the game without significantly increasing the cost, make the team develop more effectively, and make the game more creative.
