According to SamMobile, Samsung will begin reliability testing the Galaxy Z Fold 5's droplet hinge this weekend.
The test will last for about a month, and 200,000 folding tests will be conducted. If the hinge fails to lose more than 15 percent after the test, it will be put into mass production.
The reason for such intense reliability testing,That's because the Galaxy Z Fold 5 is Samsung's first foldable phone with a droplet hinge.
With the addition of the drop hinge, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 can be as thick as 13mm, which can further reduce the crease of the screen while solving the gap that existed after the previous phone merger.
It is worth mentioning that,The drop hinge is not a new technology.
Before the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5, various domestic manufacturers have adopted similar hinge structure design for foldable phones, thus greatly reducing the thickness of foldable phones and reducing screen creases while ensuring strength.
