Soft recently disclosed the salary and treatment of its employees in an application for a work visa. The maximum annual salary for Microsoft software engineers is $288000, while that for hardware engineers is $239000, according to the document.

Microsoft does not disclose the salaries of its employees, but recently, the information was disclosed in a work visa application submitted by Microsoft to the Foreign worker Certification Office (OFLC). Microsoft component engineers earn between $94000 and $288000 a year in 2022, while hardware engineers earn between $115000 and $239000, according to the documents.

It should be pointed out that these salaries do not include stock awards received by employees. Nonetheless, it is a valuable guide to understanding the salary levels of various positions at Microsoft.

The figures also highlight how Microsoft competed for talent by paying high salaries before the technology industry entered a historic downturn. Of course, the figures for the next few quarters are likely to be different as tech giants rein in spending.
